Happy 2016 – It’s Game Time!

Posted by Simon Leung in Inspirational, Occasions, Personal on January 1st, 2016 | No Comments

Every year, we make New Year resolutions that only a few of us will ever live up to.

You know the drill? Yes, you do. I know you do. You know EXACTLY what I’m talking about… :)

2016 new year resolutions

For some reasons, these resolutions are often forgotten, neglected or placed in the back burner within weeks or even days after we’ve set them. Not that it’s right or wrong, but it has become a fact of life.

I’d be lying to say I haven’t been guilty of the same thing, but I’ve actually never been a fan of making promises I can’t keep or starting things I can’t finish. Which is why this time around, things are going to be just a bit different. Actually, a LOT different.

You see, everything that happens in our lifetime is a stepping stone. One thing prepares you for the next, and for me, 2015 was no different.

Despite having a much “lighter” schedule this year speaking at seminars and conducting my own trainings, my traveling was as intense as ever, trekking through several countries while secretly building my own team of rockstars “behind the scenes.”

As I always say, I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason. And for those who had the opportunity to climb on board with me during the last 12 months, I believe they were all brought to me by forces way bigger than all of us could ever fathom, and it is in preparation for bigger and better things to come in 2016.

I can’t even begin to explain how my life has so dramatically transformed over the last few years which eventually brought me to this specific point in my life where we have a spectacular team who is a hair away from helping one another achieving some of the best that life has to offer.

In the U.S., I grew up with professional sports and video games. And to me, I have spent the last year building the best darn team I could have ever built. We’ve even warmed up with some initial achievements. But now, it’s game time, so let’s get ready to play ball!

gametime

To me, I see the first 95% of my life as “practice.” I’ve learned so many valuable lessons on the ups and downs of everything that everyone has to go through.

2015 (maybe even some of 2014) was some pretty good warm up. Without the building blocks that were put into place, I wouldn’t be ready for the things that are to come.

And what’s to come?

Well, 2016, of course… And in 2016, I’m about to gear up for that grand slam out of the park!

I mentioned this time, it’s going to be different. Even a “LOT” different. How different?

What makes me excited to work every day is that since I enjoy my work so much, I don’t even consider it “work” anymore.

At this stage in my business, there isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not helping anyone else. That’s right. I’m in the business of helping other people, and nothing, no amount of money in the world, can outrank the positivity you are surrounded with when everything you do is designed to improve the lives of other people.

And the theory is true… The more lives you change, the “richer” you will be become (in every sense of the word).

So what is this game that we’ll be playing in 2016?

Well, as you can see from my last blog post of 2015, my goal is to create 100 more success stories.

I want to help the chosen people to become “richer” in the way I have experienced. I want to help them become more “successful” in their own definition of the term. I want to help them to finally live the dream, and put them in the position where they can do the same thing to help countless others in the exact same way.

That means I’m looking for doers, not sitting ducks who wait around to be served. I need action takers who are ready to contribute. I need LEADERS.

See, anyone can “make money.” Anyone can follow a blueprint to earn a living. That’s purely a business thing.

What I’m in search for are not only people who can follow instructions, I need people who are ready to serve back and help me to help change lives, create successes, and provide opportunities.

That, my friends, that is a Leadership thing. And I can’t do it alone, which is why I need fellow Leaders to do this with me.

It’s not just a resolution. It’s not even a goal. This has become my mission.

I’m gonna do it, and I’m gonna celebrate. By this time next year, I will have these successful Leaders under my wing who will be living the life of their dreams while helping others to do the same thing.

Don’t think it’s possible? Watch me :)

Here’s to a Happy, Healthy and Successful 2016 to you, as well as your family, loved ones and close friends!

P.S. If you’re interested in working with me to HAVE a “happy, healthy and successful 2016,” and even be considered to become one of my next success stories, I invite you to check out my previous post to see how you can Partner With Me In 2016.

Let’s Partner Together In 2016!

Are you ready to welcome in 2016?

Another year has come and gone. Seriously, where does the time go?

Having moved around quite often in the last few years, 2015 is my first full calendar year to have spent based mostly out of Malaysia.

With a new country, this obviously meant new projects, partnerships and even business models.

Earlier this year, I wrote about the launch of my Internet Marketing Insider Secrets (IMIS) two-day training in Jakarta, Indonesia.

For the remainder of the year, I only conducted a total of two more IMIS trainings – One in Penang, Malaysia, and another in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

What did I do the rest of the time?

Well, a big part of my focus has been to partake in partnership projects with my students to create success stories.

In fact, I’ve partnered up with two very close friends who are highly respected in their own industries (online marketing and network marketing) to do something never done before in both these spaces.

Imagine the ability to rake in all the potential and residual earnings equivalent to the top network marketer earners, but done 100% online like the most successful Internet Marketers with all the time freedom in the world, making USD passively in their spare time.

This is a glimpse what we created…

the powerteam
Simon Leung (Founder Of The PowerTeam), Patric Chan (Founder Of Passive Wealth),
Billy Teoh (Founder of ACES)
It consists of FREE top-of-the-line wealth mentors, extraordinary business modules and concepts, unmatched quality online and offline trainings, and even a state-of-the-art automated online sales funnel system that we personally created.

Because of this technology and mentorship, our success stories are growing at a rapid pace, with many of our “newbie” students who are either busy with school, work or family still able to find success by committing with us only on a part-time basis.

From some of the stories shared by a few of our recent successes, you’ll even see that thanks to our automated online system, many of them are even generating income online seemingly from “out of nowhere!”:

vernon kong

“It’s a money making machine to me.” – Vernon Kong

janice jialin

“What do you do if they don’t believe you? Prove it to them!” – Janice JiaLin

danyelle tan chew lian
“Full-time taking care of my baby girl, part-time working on the business, but making more than an average full-time employee’s salary.” – Danyelle Tan
This is why I love what I do! We’re changing lives, and we are literally in the business of helping people. Isn’t this simply the best kind of “work” in the world?

In fact, I believe so much in this mission that I even hit the road and traveled across multiple countries and cities for months at a time to spread this message and offer the opportunity to those eager enough to grab it.

This was part of my “How To Make USD Online” mini-seminar tour, where my team and I packed up our bags and explored new territories for months at a time.

While in Indonesia, I traveled to Jakarta and Surabaya. In Malaysia, I traveled to Penang, KL, Ipoh, and Melaka. I’ve even ventured into Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau and Cambodia. And next year, we’ll be going into China and Taiwan.

And all the while, my team does a fantastic job training and supporting new members to help them reach a level in their lives that they never before had dreamed to be possible.

Our growth is staggering. The success stories are coming in like wildfire. Do you want to be next?

The reason I’m asking this is because my mission in 2016 is aggressive and straight to the point… I want to create 100 more success stories.

Yep, that’s right. 100 new success stories from all walks of life. No experience, skills or technical knowledge required.

All you need is commitment and the determination to be successful. NO MATTER WHAT!

But before you can be considered, I need you to go through at least the fundamentals of Internet Marketing training so that you can understand how our business would work.

Even though I won’t be doing anymore “live” mini-seminars in person this year, I’ll still be able to conduct these trainings online, which means that you can watch it from the comfort of your own home.

For the next several days (and as long as I feel like continuing them), I will periodically schedule in my online webinar training called “How To Sell Anything You Want 100% Online.”

Inside, you’ll learn the 7 steps of Internet Success. Plus – You’ll have a sneak peek at the exact same partnership project and techniques which produced all the success stories you saw above, and countless more.

Simply click on the registration button you see below, select the date and time that is the most convenient for you, and join the 100s of your fellow participants in the webinar room for a mind-blowing online marketing session that will change the way you do business on the Internet.

And in case you’re wondering… Yes, it’s FREE. Consider it a Holidays present for you, with my compliments :)

P.S. My 2016 resolution is to create success stories. Why not make yours to be one of them? Together, we can change the world and make it the best year yet for all of us. Let’s partner together in 2016!

How To Have A Truly Happy 2015

Posted by Simon Leung in Educational, Inspirational, Occasions, Personal, Promotion, Updates on January 1st, 2015 | No Comments

Every 365 days on this special occasion, we would wish one another “Happy New Year!” – But, how many of us can say that we are truly happy?

There’s no doubt that New Year’s resolutions serve an important purpose in our own motivation to welcome in a new era. But without a clear reflection of the previous year and all the years before, most people inevitably create resolutions so specific, general or unachievable that they eventually abandon them altogether.

My take on the new year is to take everything I have learned and experienced over the past 12 months into perspective to explicitly declare what I want and how I will live my life moving forward.

Instead of making the same general New Year resolutions year after year that never last more than a week or two anyway (you know – lose weight, exercise more, eat healthier, save more, earn more, travel more, drink less, making this the best year ever, blah, blah, blah) why not commit yourself to attaining one life goal this time around that’s actually meaningful and sustainable, and will actually make a difference in your life and those you care about?

Mine is simple: To enjoy life and be happy.

I am a believer that general happiness is a state of mind. Despite the many challenges and tests life throws at us from time-to-time which are completely out of our control, we do have the power to choose and change our emotions if we really want to.

However, in order for us to become truly happy, what I’ve learned throughout a very eye-opening 2014 is that there are certain habits and traits we must adapt or avoid in order to achieve the true happiness we deserve in 2015 and onwards.

Per my previous blog post, 2014 was a “new” year for me. New life (in ways more than one), new country, new relationships, new commitments, new businesses, new revelations. What I didn’t include was this: new life lessons.

On the surface, what the universe gave me in 2014 was nothing to sneeze at. I couldn’t have asked for a more reasonable and smooth year even if I tried. My new projects allowed me to generate more income, while working with new partners and teams who helped me within the businesses, which also gave me more time to live my personal life and work on other things.

Behind closed doors, though, the life lessons slowly rolled in throughout a period of several months, which taught me a number of relentless and disappointing truths about humanity and the evils of the world.

Understandably so, my reserved and private nature prevents me from going into specific details of my experiences. However, the mentor inside of me encourages the sharing of my discoveries with you, because without true happiness, all your goals, objectives and achievements mean absolutely nothing.

So, what is true happiness, and how can it be achieved?

I won’t claim to be an expert. God knows that I’ve had my own share of emotional challenges within recent years. Having gone through and overcoming that, though, it may mean that I have learned a thing or two about turning an unhappy life around. Ultimately, finding the source of the unhappiness is the key to unlocking the joy of life you deserve to have.

And no, I’m not going to go into things like “what drives you” or “what motivates you” to get out of bed every morning. I’m not going to ask you to decide what’s important to you, like family, success or money. Although these are fundamental subject matters that I oftentimes share on stage and to close associates, they might be a bit cliché for this post, and definitely no real “revelation” you would need to hear from me today (maybe next time).

What I will list here are several “happiness-draining” characteristics you must avoid, both for yourself, as well as others who happens to possess them. They have sucked the energy out of me for much of 2014, and I will be staying clear away from this type of negative energy at all costs to make the best out of life moving forward.

MINDSET

I can fill you up with all the motivation in the world, but no success will ever come to you if you do not govern the right mindset to begin with.

Many people who have expressed interest to learn from me or work together later complain what they need to do is “not working” or “too hard.” You know what? Life is hard, man. No one is going to hand you the life you want on a silver platter; you are going to have to work for it. And if something doesn’t work, you keep at it until it does.

And what happens when the going gets tough? Throw in the towel and conclude that you can’t do it? I can go on all day saying things like “you can do it” or “don’t give up,” but the truth is that the will to succeed must come within yourself, and whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you would be right.

Unfortunately, society has been brainwashing us ever since the beginning of time that things are supposed to be a certain way. We’re supposed to study hard, find a job and work our tails off for the rest of our lives, making other people rich in the process. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be this way, that there is a better way, and I honestly believe that anyone who wants it deserves it.

Even after having come so far, and already making the initial investments of time, money and effort, it baffles me how easily some people give up whenever life throws them a curve ball. Most will never know just how close they were to achieving their dreams because they gave in with mere steps to go. This is the biggest travesty of all.

If you want it, you’ll find a way, If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse. Don’t even start if you intend to quit. You’ll just be wasting your time, and mine.

Nobody ever said success will come easy, but if you are willing to stick it through, I can promise you that it will be worth it.

NEGATIVITY

There are plenty of things wrong with the world today. We get that, and we know that nobody and nothing is perfect.

Now, is it necessary to always talk about negative things? Is it a must to bring up the negativity in every conversation you ever have with anyone who would listen?

I’m personally sick and tired of having conversations with negative people because it is nothing but consistent whining all the time, and any response to positivity or reasoning of any kind would begin with “Yeah, but…,” “That’s not the point…,” or sometimes, no response at all.

Let’s get something straight. Haters are always gonna hate. There’s nothing we can do about that. The cold hard truth is that in most cases, the people who hold us back also happens to be closest friends, oldest associates or family members. You know, people we’re supposed to “trust.”

At some point, you simply need to stand up and say “enough is enough.” Relationships are important, but sometimes, it is even more important to finally realize when to tune certain people out. This means making efforts not to engage, breaking old patterns and not confiding in any and all people who don’t see eye to eye with you.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not suggesting that we ignore potential issues by any means. If there are issues and you need to get things off your chest, it’s always a good idea to have friends you can talk to. Although, this is best done in a civil environment where your listeners share your sentiments whereby all parties are productively discussing possible solutions, rather than shoving down negativity down people’s throats.

Where there’s a wrong, there’s also a right, just like how there’s a dark side and a bright side. Instead of closing one eye and only looking at the negative side of things, keep both eyes open and evaluate the bigger overall picture and story before jumping to your own perceived conclusion.

CONTROLLING

Everyone has goals, and everyone “wants” certain things and objectives to be met.

However, there is a huge difference between striving to achieve one’s goals and attempting to control things or, worse yet, people, in an effort to make certain things happen.

I’ve never been a fan of being told what to do or having decisions made for me. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned to make my own decisions and do what I want. I don’t care who you are, what you’ve done or what you think you’re entitled, if I get disrespected in any way, shape or form, I walk.

Even though I am a nice guy with high tolerance for many things, if anyone even tries to micromanage me or those around me, whether personally or professionally, with the intention to control an outcome of their choice, that is where I draw the line, and nice is not how they will remember me.

You are your own person. Unless you are in dire dependence on a certain person crucial to your survival and livelihood, do not put yourself in a position to be controlled by anybody.

SELF-COMPARISON

Do you know that other people’s good fortune does not necessarily steal from your own? Do you believe that there’s enough good fortune to go around?

I do, but not everybody does. In fact, some may even tend to believe that there just isn’t enough goodness in the world to go around, which is why they are always comparing others’ fortunes with theirs.

The result? Jealousy and resentment. And maybe even loss of friends.

Look, you don’t have to be better simply because someone else is good. Both can be good (surprise!), and so can the projects that they’re working on. It’s not one or the other.

If your friends are happy doing their own things, let them be. Their happiness and success will not limit your own good fortune or possible outcome in life.

Life and business shouldn’t be about comparing yourself with anybody. Just be happy with the life that you choose and the results that you get without interfering with anyone else’s.

GOSSIPY

Yes, I know. Who doesn’t gossip, right?

But – There’s a difference between the innocent kind of gossip that we’re probably all guilty of, and downright talking smack about people and whatever they’re associated with, especially if these people are supposed to be your friends.

In fact, this type of gossip isn’t really gossip – it’s more like venting and disrespecting people behind their backs any chance that they get. Nobody likes to be talked about, and if you’re talking about others, you’re putting a target on your own back as this opens the doors for others to talk about you.

Well, some people may not care. I certainly don’t. It doesn’t change the fact that I still don’t want to be around when the gossip is taking place, though. Last time I checked, high school was a very long time ago.

You can spot a gossiper a mile away, as their conversations of choice are typically about other people, their lives, and whatever or whomever they are associated with. They expect to be respected and defended if people talk about them, but more often than not, they are the one who fire the first shot, and will continue to shoot with no end in sight.

Should you have a problem with someone, deal with it directly with that person. Don’t rely on “ranting” to other people who may or may not even want to listen to it with whatever method you can think of, whether online or offline, just to make yourself feel better. That’s simply immature, and in reality, it makes you look a million times worse than the people you are talking about.

And if they’re talking about other people in front of you, you can rest assured that they are also talking about you in front of other people. Avoid this type of negativity like a plague.

UNRELIABLE

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Actually, I’ve been fooled quite a few times. “Unreliable” is an extremely conservative description because I don’t want to personally attack any of my associates, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’ve been duped by them on multiple occasions.

Probably one of the best ways, if not the best way, to lose all credibility with your network is to not do or deliver what you say. Especially when you don’t make good on your promises, accounting is not correct on agreed profit shares or compensation, or if plans are unexpectedly changed without prior discussion and agreement with little to no chance of negotiation, this puts a huge dent in the trust factor of both personal and working relationships.

Both of the aforementioned types of relationships would be impossible to withstand because the trust factor would be completely gone. Yes, it is important to make money, be successful and climb up the mountain of life to live as you wish, but please, not at the expense of your friends and partners.

The above list is by no means exhaustive, but if you can make the conscious decision to strip out as much negativity as you can in 2015, just like what I have done towards the conclusion of 2014, and start focusing only on people with positive attitudes and things with positive outcomes, I guarantee you will have a very happy 2015 and beyond.

There’s a reason why now, day after day, night after night, regardless of whether I’m talking to a thousand people, ten people or only one, I can do so with my head held high and a winning smile on my face. That’s because after over ten years in my industry and decades on this planet, I have proven to this entire world that I only have two things – determination and my word – And I won’t break either of them for nobody.

In 2014, too many public and private tragic events have happened which reminds us that life is just way too short to bury ourselves in things that upset us. We must make every moment count, and that means productively working on things that will ultimately make you a happier and more positive person.

It won’t be hard for me. As a certified introvert, I’ve been known with the ability to isolate myself from the world by staying indoors for days at a time, screening my calls and choosing my interactions. If someone or something is standing in the way of my objective to maintain a happy emotion, don’t be surprised if I end up cutting it out of my life this year.

My advice for the new year: Make the positive choice to surround yourself only with people and situations that bring out the best in you. Make your very best efforts to do the right things and never apologize for doing what you feel in your heart is honestly the right thing to do or say. If you must talk, keep your words soft and sweet, because sooner or later, you may have to eat them. Never bite off more than you can chew.

And, of course, at the end of the night, family, success and finding your motivation to wake up every day and doing what you love is also extremely important in achieving a happy life :)

With all that said… HAPPY NEW YEAR! May your 2015 be blessed with positivity, love, health, success and, of course, complete and true happiness!

Partner With Me In 2015!

Posted by Simon Leung in Launch, Occasions, Promotion, Updates on November 28th, 2014 | No Comments

In a blink of an eye, the end of the year is quickly upon us once again.

As I stroll down the streets to the sights of Christmas decorations and sounds of Holiday cheers, I very naturally reflect back on my personal 2014 to pinpoint my own successes, failures and lessons.

For me, 2014 has been a year of the “new.” New life, new country, new relationships, new commitments, new businesses and new revelations.

Through all the new experiences given to me this year, I have learned many things along the way.

I have a new realization on the importance of family. I am now more inclined to focus my time on projects which benefit not only myself, but also those who are close to me. And, I have a new understanding of “friendship” and how it should and shouldn’t be defined and appreciated.

All these lessons, of course, came with personal experiences of achievements and disappointments. Although at the end of the night, we take the blessing of a new day each and every morning as a new opportunity to learn something new about being a better and more positive person.

Which is why in the latter part of the year, I’ve finally decided to strip all the negativity out of my life, and, as far as I can help it, only focus on the people who have positive mindsets and things that will have positive outcomes.

And the results have been outstanding! Not only, as the guinea pig, did I achieve success for myself, but slowly and surely, those who were brave enough to step up to the plate and offer themselves as experiments also began earning a return on their financial and time investments. Let me tell you, it feels good to see the faces of those you’ve mentored once they receive their well-deserved checks.

As with all new projects and partnerships, it goes without saying that we have had our shares of struggles, challenges, frustrations, stress and even failures. Ultimately, though, we have reached the point where we know the business model and systems work. And now, we simply need more partners on board to join us and take the entire world by storm.

This is where you come in…

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work with me and my team of some of the top entrepreneurs in the world and the rising stars of tomorrow to take over the planet. The full details of our online and offline project will be disclosed to you after a private conversation if we both mutually agree that you are a good fit for our team.

With that said, you must be coachable. I will ONLY work with people who are motivated, action takers and committed. Remember, I’m only going to focus my time into positive energy. If you expect that you will take no action and complain about your lack of results thereafter, I urge you to please not apply as you do not qualify and maintaining our friendship is more important to me.

IMPORTANT ACTION STEPS FOR QUALIFIED POTENTIAL PARTNERS:

If you do not qualify and/or have no interest whatsoever in partnering with me, no action is required. Thank you for visiting, and I welcome you back at anytime.

This is neither a salesletter hype nor a business proposal. I’m not even providing any details to any of our projects. You either want the opportunity to partner with a winning team, or you don’t.

BUT – If you are interested in working with me, meet the above qualifications and ready to potentially make 2015 your most successful year ever, please follow these instructions clearly to apply for my partnership program:

  • Step One: Find my JV contact form at http://simonleung.com/partner
  • Step Two: Fill in all the requested details of the form to the best of your ability.
  • Step Three: Wait for us to respond :)

As I am traveling throughout Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia these several days, I will make my best effort to personally get back to you within 5 to 7 days’ time.

In a year filled with constant negative and tragic news from all around the world, no one can surely say what tomorrow will bring, or if there will even be a tomorrow. The best that we can do is to live for today, and live in the moment. And that would mean making decisions today that your future self will thank you for.

I can’t wait to hear from you, and if a mutually beneficial partnership relationship is in our future, I look forward to seeing you with us at the top :)

P.S. My mission, which I have already chosen to accept, was to find 100 coachable partners by the end of the year that I will personally train for free who are willing to learn and work together with me to build their businesses. As I type the words on this page, I have successfully found 80 partners (no bluff! proof can be provided upon reasonable request) within just one month who are committed to starting 2015 with a bang by working hard with us for the remaining weeks that are left this year. This means that if you qualify and act fast, you can secure one of the last 20 partnership openings I’ve reserved for my 100% free training and mentorship. Don’t waste any time in making your decision, otherwise you may miss out on the boat completely once we’ve reached 100 partners, up until the time I decide to open back up this opportunity next year!

Happy Lunar New Year of the Horse 2014!

Posted by Simon Leung in Occasions, Personal on February 1st, 2014 | 1 Comment »

So, I’m a bit of a dark horse. Last year, I had every intention to write another blog post after my initial 2013 New Year post, but reality became a horse of a different color. As a result, online and offline strangers I’ve never met, acquaintances I don’t know very well and even Trojan horses disguised as friends, colleagues and business associates, have all been spreading rumors that I was back to my old self, demotivated and wasting my life away.

I’ve never been one to beg others to stop flogging a dead horse since, quite frankly, I have no qualms about what others think. That’s right, I simply don’t care. My close family and friends can tell you that. I consider a large part of my every day life private (and it will remain that way), which is why you may have noticed that I also don’t frequently post on social media, but if people are nonetheless going to beat a dead horse with a stick, I might as well make a revelation or two so you can get a brief update directly from the horse’s mouth.

Now, in case you, too, think I’ve been horsing around all year, just hold your horses for a minute. The truth of the matter is that 2013 was actually one of my most productive years in a long time, and I’m not just saying this as a stalking horse to undermine any of my past successes or failures.

As soon as the year kicked off, I went straight to work. Among all my live events, business trips and joint ventures, I had intended to give an update when I launched a new Internet Marketing training program, conducted my first workshop of the year, or made my first big investment towards businesses, properties and other luxury goods. However, because I’ve had my share of backing the wrong horse in the past with unsuccessful projects, I didn’t want to run before my horse to the market and jinx it all by making announcements too soon, if at all.

Don’t get me wrong; I love what I do. Wild horses can’t drag me away from my passion for the Internet lifestyle and teaching others to do the same. To me, 2013 was an extremely successful year while being able to enjoy the exact kind of world I’ve always wanted to live in – a one horse town. With the exception of occasional business trips and live events, my official work weeks consisted of only one day, four to five hours each time.

Yep, I’m strong as a horse and have taken back control of my life for a while now. During my free time, I enjoyed personal travels, hanging out with friends, socializing online and offline, hitting the gym every now and then, not to mention exploring new food and eating like a horse! Sometimes, I feel like a horse that’s been put out to pasture because there was just no work to do, although I can’t say I didn’t like it. Life was carefree, relaxing and good.

Despite the blessing to run one of the most ideal lifestyle businesses in the world, it felt busy to me. I suppose it’s true that every horse thinks its own pack is the heaviest because even when new opportunities came along, I didn’t want to add any additional workload on my plate and had my own restrictions on what I wanted to do or felt I should be doing. Horses for courses, right? I was quite adamant about what projects I wanted to take on and with which partners, so a nod was as good as a wink to a blind horse since I had my own way of thinking and doing things.

Then, towards the end of the year, a series of unexpected turn of events took place which completely altered my way of thinking. One thing led to another, and it quickly became clear that something had to give, because it turns out that there are people, not just family, but also close friends, students and associates, who are dependent on me and my involvement in projects. As I didn’t want to close the stable door after the horse had bolted, I knew I must change my trade of thoughts in order to create a future I would not live to regret. At which point, I woke up and realized that it’s no good climbing on my high horse about things I cannot control. Judging people and opportunities simply limits my growth.

After spending the last few months off to enjoy a long Holiday season with close family and friends, I had some time to think and plan how I want my life to be this year. Looking back at some of the opportunities I’ve let go in the past because they did not apply to my lifestyle is a great lesson to determine how I want to choose my opportunities moving forward. The fact of the matter is that if two ride on a horse, one must ride behind. Nothing will ever be perfect and there really is no use fighting for power because then, everybody loses. 100 percent of nothing will always be nothing.

Everyone who knows me knows that I’d always prefer a life of relaxation, but given my epiphany just in time for the New Year, I might just have to push aside all lazy thoughts for now and kick off the Year of the Horse working like a horse. Don’t worry, it’s not as dreadful as it sounds, as I would definitely be working on projects that I enjoy with friends I enjoy working with. My only concern is putting the cart before the horses in all my projects since I’m so over-ambitious in getting many things done at the same time.

Thankfully, my entrepreneurship experience has taught me that there will always be concerns and it is neither possible nor reasonable to predict all the problems that may arise along the way. It most certainly cannot be used as an excuse to not do something, as it is much more important to get projects up and running first. As I preach to all my students and clients, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t force it to drink. I’ve led thousands to the water well of freedom, but only those with the will and determination take that drink.

Today, I’m here to let you know that I, too, have not always taken the drink offered to me. What I have learned is that looking a gift horse in the mouth will lead you to nowhere that you haven’t already been. It’s okay to have standards and guidelines because, after all, there’s no use changing horses midstream as a result of working on projects you don’t believe in. However, if a proven successful model comes your way and you reject it, it could be the biggest mistake you make as an entrepreneur.

Life is not horseplay, and the world is not a one horse race. There are plenty of opportunities out there waiting for you and me, but things don’t just happen simply by wishing. If wishes were horses, all the beggars in the world would ride them. You must make them happen, and I am more than happy to make anything happen together with you if we can agree on a mutually beneficial venture.

And guess what? There is no better time than now, in the Year of the Horse, to make things happen for you and your family. Horse sense tells me this year has the potential to be our best year yet. And since it has already begun, I better get on my horse right away and highly recommend that you don’t spare the horses, either. Time is a limited commodity we cannot afford to waste.

To all my Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Mongolian and Tibetan friends all around the world – Happy Lunar New Year of the Horse! (Yes, it is the Year of the Horse, in case you haven’t figured it with all the clever horse idioms in this blog post. :P And yes, Nicole Mullen, we “Chineses” are celebrating New Year a month after January 1st and it will go on for 15 days!) Regardless of culture, religion, nationality and ethnical background – Have yourself a joyous, healthy and prosperous 2014!

Happy 2010 – New Year And New Decade Resolutions

Posted by Simon Leung in Occasions, Personal, Travel, Updates on January 1st, 2010 | No Comments

It’s 2010 – Happy New Year from Hong Kong and welcome to the beginning of a new decade!

As with every new year, most people are making New Year Resolutions for themselves, whether it is meant to improve their lives personally or professionally.

However, 2010 is different because not only is it a New Year, it is also a New Decade…

When it comes to making your resolutions this time around, you must think bigger picture in terms of what you want to achieve not just for this year, but for the next 10 years!

I know, I know… making goals for the next 10 years seems to be somewhat of a stretch…

This was exactly what I thought the last time I renewed my passport (In the United States, passports expire every 10 years).

I thought to myself, “Wow – I won’t need to renew my passport for another 10 years… That’s PLENTY of time!”

Guess what? I just finished renewing my passport again several weeks ago… :)

The point I’m trying to make is not just that I’m getting old and that time can fly right by you before you know it, but also that you need to set the appropriate goals for yourself and make sure you use this time to achieve what is important to you.

Back in 2000, I was a broke college student struggling to finish my Bachelor degree, eating ramen and soy sauce over rice with every meal, with dreams of finding success and traveling the world.

When I received my renewed passport in the mail, the first thing I did (after getting over how unsatisfied I was with my passport photo) was set a goal for myself to fill up every page of that passport before it was due to expire in 10 years.

For a college student who averaged maybe one trip to Hong Kong every year or two to visit family, this was a pretty tall order.

Before I knew it, a year has gone by, two years, five years, eight years, and I had barely made a dent on my passport, continuing to average maybe one or two International flights a year, filling up only a quarter or so of my passport pages.

When I realized my time was running out, I decided to kick my business into high gear and began expanding my company overseas.

Within the course of about a year, I managed to expand my business from just within the United States to Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and China.

I’ve also had the chance to take personal and business vacations to places like Mexico, Caribbeans, Nova Scotia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Macau and of course, right here in my hometown of Hong Kong.

Needless to say, these International trips (most places I visited multiple times) resulted in many additional stamps on my passport, and I actually filled up every single one of these pages an entire year before my passport was due to expire.

The moral of the story is that every year, we make New Year Resolutions for ourselves, generic ones like make more money, eat more healthy, quit smoking, work out more, lose weight and spend less money.

Many of our resolutions, if not most or all, are almost never achieved and even die away within a day or two after you have set them.

Well this year, since 2010 marks the beginning of a new decade, why not be a little different?

Why not set a goal for yourself that is higher than what you would normally set, and more specific than what you would normally declare?

How about something that is not “achieved” by doing once, like going to the gym or refraining from eating a greasy burger?

Push yourself to the point where you know what your own limits are, and then surpassing them because you have set a higher goal for yourself.

Success does not happen overnight – You must work hard at it every day and strive to reach the point in which you would consider it successful.

Yes, it may take you up to ten years to achieve it, whatever it may be – To max out your passport with travels, to build a seven or eight figure business from scratch, to attain financial freedom for your family, or whatever that goal might be.

And let me tell you, once you complete these goals and raise your arms in victory, there is no better feeling – especially if you found that you have done it in less than 10 years :)

Happy New Year and don’t just make 2010 your year – Make This Your Decade!

Here on the West Coast, we’re finally winding down to the final hours of 2008…

Even though we’re behind most of the world where 2009 is already underway, I actually appreciate having the extra time to reflect on 2008 and to be able make my final post of the year.

A lot has happened this year, both positive and negative, which has resulted in a time of my life that I will never forget.

I’ve learned many things about life (both personally and professionally) – a lot of them the hard way – that will greatly affect the way I move forward.

In retrospective, this experience has taught me a ton about how to proceed with my own business as well.

As we step into the new year, it’s traditional for many of us to make a new year’s resolution, so that we can make goals that we’ll strive to achieve.

Since my business direction will result in my traveling internationally for over 50% of 2009, my new year resolution is to not lose touch with my friends, colleagues, partners, clients and the countless relationships we’ve worked so hard to build.

In 2008, I spent pretty much every weekend on the road, either speaking at seminars around the country or doing the same in other countries, while building teams and companies at the same time.

As a matter of fact, I can count the number of weekends I was actually at home with one hand.

In 2009, my focus will shift to working on building a lot of the same teams and momentum in other countries by starting new businesses, growing existing ones and organizing more of my own live events.

I’ve seen and witnessed the tremendous value live events have brought to attendees, and I want to be able to capture more of that by expanding my brand to as many parts of the world as I can.

With that said, I know it’s going to be a challenge keeping and maintaining my current online relationships, not to mention building new ones.

That’s why I want to upkeep my level of networking accomplished through attending live events in 2008 by increasing my presence online through the power of social media sites and social networking.

Yes, I’m talking about the popular social media portals like TwitterFacebookMySpace,YouTube, and the latest one to hit the scene which I predict is gonna be HUGE in 2009…Google Friend Connect!

Social media is going to be my primary way of communicating with my friends and partners in 2009, and I’d definitely like to connect with you on there as well :)

So please, connect with me… chat with me… interact with me…

Take a look at all my favorite social media sites and feel free to join and connect with me in any or all of them!

I’d definitely like to be able to communicate all my news, updates and announcements with you as quickly and easily as possible…

@SimonLeung Day

Posted by Simon Leung in Occasions, Personal, Updates on July 28th, 2008 | No Comments

I was originally planning to keep my birthday low-profile this year…

But thanks to Warren Whitlock and Deborah Micek (who were reminded by Donna Fox about my birthday), I was acknowledged with my own @SimonLeung Day in honor of my birthday on their Twitter Handbook website.

As soon as the clock hit 12AM, an overwhelming outpour of birthday wishes almost immediately (and very much unexpectedly) began flowing into my TwitterFacebook and MySpace profiles!

Not only did I receive tons of public and private messages from friends including Stu McLaren, Ben Mack, Harris Fellman, Lee Collins, Robin Collins, Ross Goldberg, Alejandro Reyes, Christina Hills, Stuart Tan, Donna Fox, Alan Bechtold, Amanda Swigert, Jon Walker, Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero, Pat O’Bryan, Vince Tan, JP Micek, Deborah Micek, Warren Whitlock, Eric Farewell, Alex Jeffreys and Cassey Lim…

But over 100 other well-wishers from all over the world also posted Happy Birthday messages within just a matter of hours, and at least another 100 plus continued to send similar messages before the day was over!

I definitely felt the love… :)

Never would I have expected something as small and low profile as my birthday to attract so much attention from my friends on TwitterFacebook and MySpace, but I want to thank you all with my most sincere gratitude…

It sure feels good to know that somebody out there cares! Haha…

Live Seminar Anniversary Special Event

Posted by Simon Leung in Gurus, Occasions, Personal, Promotion, Seminars, Updates on May 5th, 2008 | No Comments

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I don’t usually celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but since I’m in the mood to celebrate anniversaries, it was exactly two years ago today on May 5th, 2006, that I attended my very first Internet Marketing seminar.

It was the day that I look back as one of the most significant events of my business, particularly because it was the official turning point that changed my mindset from “employee” to “entrepreneur.”

This all happened in San Antonio at Joel Christopher’s live seminar, where I met a lot of marketers who have since become my close friends, partners and mentor figures, including Mike Filsaime, Tom Beal, Gary Ambrose, Terry Dean, Jason Oman, and dozens of others.

If you haven’t had the chance to go to a seminar, I would encourage you to attend one when you can – it will completely change the way you look at your business.

I’ve had many success stories over the past two years, and it all began when I took that leap of faith and attended my first live seminar.

Now, I understand that not everyone is in the position to attend a live seminar for whatever reason.

So, to commemorate my anniversary of two years as a seminar participant, I am holding alive show this Friday, May 9th…

However, it’s not just any live show

You see, I have invited my good friend Michael Cheney to join us to share some very exciting things – strategies about his own business formula that I wish I had two years ago when I first got started.

Why did I choose to invite Michael Cheney?

That’s because just two years ago, very much like myself, Michael Cheney was just getting started on the Internet.

In fact, a few years ago, Michael Cheney was living in a poxy one-bed apartment, up to his eyeballs in debt, alcohol and even drugs.

Michael Cheney was desperately trying to make money online to dig himself out of the hole, but nothing he was trying worked.

But then, something changed…

One day, Michael Cheney discovered a simple formula that netted him $250,037 online in just seven days, and he became an instant Internet Marketing superstar.

At first, Michael Cheney thought it was a lucky fluke – until he used the formula again to rake in several hundred thousand dollars more online.

Today, Michael Cheney uses this formula all the time to rake in five-figure and six-figure incomes every MONTH.

These days, Michael Cheney lives the good life in a $820,038 dream house, takes eight vacations a year and works when he wants to.

As you can see, this is a highly valuable formula, but this Friday only, Michael Cheney has agreed to do a live show with me to reveal his secret!

This live show is ONLY FOR YOU as a friend, customer or reader of my blog – no outsiders allowed.

** You Are Getting LIVE Coaching From Michael Cheney ($2000 Value) **

- You’ll discover the secrets behind “the money formula” and how you can apply these secrets to blast to your own sky-high income in record time

- You’ll be able to get your biggest marketing questions answered personally by Michael Cheney LIVE on the show

- You’ll discover exactly how Michael Cheney has sold millions of dollars worth of products online

- You are getting access to his marketing brain for TWO hours for free: Michael Cheney normally charges $1000 an hour for consultancy
