Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I don’t usually celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but since I’m in the mood to celebrate anniversaries, it was exactly two years ago today on May 5th, 2006, that I attended my very first Internet Marketing seminar.

It was the day that I look back as one of the most significant events of my business, particularly because it was the official turning point that changed my mindset from “employee” to “entrepreneur.”

This all happened in San Antonio at Joel Christopher’s live seminar, where I met a lot of marketers who have since become my close friends, partners and mentor figures, including Mike Filsaime, Tom Beal, Gary Ambrose, Terry Dean, Jason Oman, and dozens of others.

If you haven’t had the chance to go to a seminar, I would encourage you to attend one when you can – it will completely change the way you look at your business.

I’ve had many success stories over the past two years, and it all began when I took that leap of faith and attended my first live seminar.

Now, I understand that not everyone is in the position to attend a live seminar for whatever reason.

So, to commemorate my anniversary of two years as a seminar participant, I am holding a live show this Friday, May 9th…

However, it’s not just any live show

You see, I have invited my good friend Michael Cheney to join us to share some very exciting things – strategies about his own business formula that I wish I had two years ago when I first got started.

Why did I choose to invite Michael Cheney?

That’s because just two years ago, very much like myself, Michael Cheney was just getting started on the Internet.

In fact, a few years ago, Michael Cheney was living in a poxy one-bed apartment, up to his eyeballs in debt, alcohol and even drugs.

Michael Cheney was desperately trying to make money online to dig himself out of the hole, but nothing he was trying worked.

But then, something changed…

One day, Michael Cheney discovered a simple formula that netted him $250,037 online in just seven days, and he became an instant Internet Marketing superstar.

At first, Michael Cheney thought it was a lucky fluke – until he used the formula again to rake in several hundred thousand dollars more online.

Today, Michael Cheney uses this formula all the time to rake in five-figure and six-figure incomes every MONTH.

These days, Michael Cheney lives the good life in a $820,038 dream house, takes eight vacations a year and works when he wants to.

As you can see, this is a highly valuable formula, but this Friday only, Michael Cheney has agreed to do a live show with me to reveal his secret!

This live show is ONLY FOR YOU as a friend, customer or reader of my blog – no outsiders allowed.

** You Are Getting LIVE Coaching From Michael Cheney ($2000 Value) **

- You’ll discover the secrets behind “the money formula” and how you can apply these secrets to blast to your own sky-high income in record time

- You’ll be able to get your biggest marketing questions answered personally by Michael Cheney LIVE on the show

- You’ll discover exactly how Michael Cheney has sold millions of dollars worth of products online

- You are getting access to his marketing brain for TWO hours for free: Michael Cheney normally charges $1000 an hour for consultancy

Four years ago, on April 30th, 2004, while I was still working at Google, I created my first blog.

In fact, you can read my very first post on this blog by clicking here => April 30th, 2004

Two years later almost to the day, I was presented with an opportunity to attend my very first Internet Marketing seminar.

You can read about that here => April 28th, 2006

Today, four years later, I am running my own successful Internet Marketing business, and I have been lucky enough to befriend a lot of fellow entrepreneurs in the community.

And just like most of them (if not all of them), I started my Internet Marketing business with a blog.

For the past four years, I have been consistently, tirelessly and even eagerly documenting every single step of my Internet Marketing journey…

Why?

Quite frankly, it was because I didn’t learn the secrets to Internet success overnight – and I KNEW I wouldn’t – so I wanted to record it all (for myself, so I can remember my successes and failures, but also for you, so you can learn from my positive examples as well as mistakes).

From just a general business idea that I had with a few friends while still working at Google and getting mentored by the late (and great) Corey Rudl, to attending my very first Internet Marketing seminar and continuing on to speak on stage for the very first time, it’s all there every step of the way.

You can read about how I began and went through my trials, struggles, fears and frustrations (just like everyone else), to where I am today – my victories and success stories – all documented on my blog, right here at www.SimonLeung.com.

When you have some free time, or when you want to take a break from your work, I want to invite you to read my entire story on this website.

It’ll make you laugh; it’ll make you cry…

But more importantly, it may even be inspiring, as well as a great read, if I do say so myself ;)

What has blogging my story done for me, and why do I continue to do it after all these years?

Well, as you can see in my various posts, I am not only telling stories, but I’m also teaching and providing good information.

More importantly, I make it fun with text, photos and even videos.

These elements help attract new visitors to my blog, and keeps them coming back to read more.

What does that mean to me?

In addition to loyal readers, I get traffic, traffic and even more traffic :)

I have dozens of websites, but the one that gets the most new and returning visitors is my blog, by far!

As my reader, I want to get you to understand the importance of having your own blog.

Actually, I was talking to Sterling Valentine about this the other day on our drive to San Diego…

Your blog is your tool to not only get traffic, but to also build your relationship with your readers.

Tell them good stories, give them good content, and make it fun for them, and they will come back again and again.

Personally, I blog cuz it connects me to you, and I want you to get to know ME, and not what I’m “known as.”

Yes, my blog brands me as an expert and a speaker (which is all very cool), but I want talk to you as a friend, and I want to tell you what I’m up
by sharing my experiences with you.

That’s the kind of blog that I want to run, and that’s the kind of blog you’ll continue to get for many more years to come when you come back and visit :)

And the great thing about a blog is that it’s the fastest way to start your Internet business.

I did it in about two hours, but with the new Anik Singal and Rosalind Garner’s Blog Classroom, you can probably do it in 10 :)

Technology these days has made starting your own blog as easy as a mouse click, and all that’s left is for you to plug in a little bit of yourself
and introduce yourself to your new fans!

The Blog Classroom shows you exactly what you need to do in order to brand yourself online and tell your story.

And before you know it, you’ll be all over the Internet (trust me – it’s really cool haha).

I hope this has encouraged you to start your own blog if you haven’t already started one…

Or if you have, I hope this gives you some ideas on how you can change or move forward that gives your readers more of yourself.

By the way, attending Internet Marketing seminars is a great way to meet other entrepreneurs, and it gives you something really interesting to blog about.

You can blog about your experience, what you learned, who was there, and you can even post photos and videos, which many people enjoy.

If you are interested in attending an Internet Marketing seminar soon, some upcoming ones include Ross Goldberg’s Xtreme Business Makeover Workshop in Sarasota, FL, Ken McArthur’s JV Alert Live in Philadelphia, PA, Mark Hendrick’s Internet Superstars Conference in Baltimore, MD, and Lynn Pierce’s Women’s Business Empowerment Summit in Scottsdale, AZ.

Let me know if you’re going to be at any of them and maybe we can meet up for lunch :)

Hello and Happy Chinese New Year from the New Territories in my homeland of Hong Kong!

This is the first time that I actually got to spend Chinese New Year in Hong Kong since I moved to America 23 years ago, so I am definitely excited to be here.

However, this is not entirely a vacation…

I actually have various business activities to conduct in Asia for the next several weeks, including a workshop in Singapore, so I am simply stopping by Hong Kong as an extended layover.

So – If you reside in Hong Kong (or perhaps you’re friend or family), please get in touch with me either via email or by leaving a comment on this post to let me know if you’d like to meet up while I’m here, and I can make some arrangements when I return from my various other trips around Asia.

I will have private meetings over the next several weeks in various parts of Asia, but my next public appearance will be in Singapore in March for the Asia Internet Lifestyle workshop, so if you are in that area or can make it, that is another way that we can get together.

We’re just about sold out for the event, so definitely reserve your spot soon if you are interested in attending.

In the meantime, I’ve taken the opportunity of being in Hong Kong to record another marketing lesson video based on my recent experience at the travel agency.

Enjoy the video, and let me know what you think!

I just got off the phone with my friend Julie Perry, and since I have been receiving countless emails and messages from mutual friends asking about the condition of her recovery progress, Julie has given me permission to give you an update on her behalf because she currently can’t type.

julie perry

If you don’t know Julie Perry, she is a fellow Internet Marketer, entrepreneur and author, as well as the host of a website for yachters and boat llovers called TheBoaters.tv.

In addition, her specialized copywriting skills landed her full-time positions with Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins on projects like FreeIQ.com, StomperNet.com and SMARTS.

On the evening of the New Year’s Eve, while I was in Tahoe, I received a voicemail from Julie Perry wishing me a Happy New Year.

When I called her back after my trip a couple days later, I discovered that shortly after she had left me the voicemail, Julie and her friend were involved in a hit-and-run accident, where they were thrown from a rickshaw after being hit by an apparent drunk driver.

Now, I’m not going to go into the details of the accident, because that’s not what this post is about…

However, if you would like to learn more about this incident, there are a few people who also wrote about it, including Michel Fortin, Alan Spicer, and Joel Marino.

When Donna Fox and I visited Julie Perry at the Ft. Lauderdale hospital a few weeks ago, she was sedated and wasn’t able to get out of bed (she told me she doesn’t remember half of what we even talked about while I was there haha).

Needless to say, she was in pretty bad shape because it had only been a few days since the accident.

But I just got off the phone with her, and I’m happy to report that my good friend Julie Perry is recovering quite nicely, and while she is still suffering from nerve damage and a broken clavicle, and requires the assistance of a cane in order to walk, Julie is nonetheless in very high spirits and looking forward to a full recovery!

Yes, it’s extremely good news because this means Julie will be well soon, but I am still bummed out because that means she will not be able to join us this weekend in Las Vegas for Ross Goldberg’s Masters Seminar, as we had originally planned.

For those of you who would like to leave Julie Perry a personal message for a speedy recovery, please feel free to leave a comment on this post, or contact her directly on her MySpace or Facebook profiles.

However, please don’t be offended if she doesn’t reply to you… She can’t type right now and plus, she must have hundreds of get well wishes by now that she will have no way to responding to without spending days on her computer :)

i5 Gold Bon Voyage Cruise 2008

Jan 12 · by

Hello from Cabin 8204 aboard the Carnival Liberty somewhere on the Atlantic Ocean just outside of the Bahamas at the i5 Gold Bon Voyage Cruise!

The Carnival Liberty, Hostess of the i5 Gold Bon Voyage Cruise

What a way to start off the year once again, with yet another well organized vacation cruise organized by the i5 Gold Mentoring Program.

However, as you may or may not be aware, the i5 Gold Mentoring Program has officially closed its doors at the end of 2007, which makes the i5 Gold Bon Voyage Cruise all that bitter sweet, as it marks the final i5 Gold event.

Notwithstanding, it was an outstanding farewell party as we spent 8 whole days aboard the Carnival Liberty, sailing from Ft. Lauderdale across the Atlantic Ocean to the exotic East Caribbean and hitting up islands like San Juan / Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and Nassau / Paradise Island in the Bahamas!

And as you can see from the photos below, not only was this cruise a huge opportunity to build business relationships and strike joint venture deals, but we also made sure that we had a “boat load” of fun as well :)

There really is no better way to build these friendships than to do it on a cruise, especially because so many marketers brought along their families and/or spouses, you have no choice but to form bonds with your favorite marketers when you are a part of their family vacation.

We wasted no time at all as the fun started even before the Carnival Liberty set sail from Ft. Lauderdale Port Everglades…

Bon Voyage Welcome Shot With Ross Goldberg, Lasse Rouhiainen And Howie Schwartz

Later on that evening, our Internet Marketing group had a welcome reception to kick off the cruise, where Captain Lou Edwards and the i5 Gold Mentors took center stage to set the plans for the week.

Throughout the week, there were other series of receptions that gave us opportunities to all get together and share some nice conversation over cocktails…

Cocktail Party With Daniel Arzuaga, Ricky Secades, Alex Nghiem And Armando Montelongo

Cocktail Party With Karen Kwan, Scott Byers, Robert Secades, Danny Arzuaga And Lasse Rouhiainen

Mardi Gras Pre-Party Coconut Drinks With Sam Heyer, Julie Olsen And Karen Kwan

And on nights that we felt like partying a little harder, well we had a few of those as well :)

On The Dance Floor With Ross Goldberg, Michelle Galvin, Anik Singal, Alex Nghiem, Donna Fox, Matt Mazur, Nikhil Parekh And Lasse Rouhiainen

Mardi Gras Party With Scott Tousignant, JP Micek, Armando Montelongo, Veronica Montelongo, Joe Appleton, Stephanie Appleton, Donna Fox, Karen Kwan, Deborah Micek, Scott Byers, Tom Beal, Elena Beal And Anik Singal

At The Club With Donna Fox, Jermaine Griggs, Sarah Griggs, Lasse Rouhiainen, Anik Singal, Julie Olsen, Scott Paton And Matt Mazur

Washington Apple Shots With Anik Singal, JP Micek, Julie Olsen And Donna Fox

Needless to say, some of the best conversations, as well as the most productive ones, were discussed over the nice dining that the Carnival had prepared for us.

Lunch With Jermaine Griggs, Jay Jennings, Tom Beal, Elena Beal, Alex Nghiem And Lasse Rouhiainen

Formal Dinner At The Supper Club With Our Aussie Friends Who Joined Us All The Way From Australia

Even though there were countless ways to have a good time on the ship (and we made sure that we maximized every opportunity), some of the best times we had were actually on land during our excursion adventures.

San Juan Puerto Rico With Sam Heyer, Nikhil Parekh, Julie Olsen, Scott Byers, Donna Fox, Ricky Secades, Danny Arzuaga, Tom Beal, Elena Beal, Robert Secades, Karen Kwan, Michelle Galvin, Anik Singal And Ross Goldberg

On the last night of the cruise, there was a Carnival Legends show where the winners of a singing contest would perform live on stage in front of the whole ship.

Out of the 10 winners who performed, 5 of them were from our own Internet Marketing group :)

Paulie Sabol As Elton John, Tom Beal As Ricky Martin, Jermaine Griggs As James Brown, Sarah Griggs As Aretha Franklin And Michelle Galvin As Madonna

As you can see, we just had a complete blast on the cruise, and just like last year, we didn’t want it to end.

Vacationing with fellow Internet Marketers on a cruise is so awesome because there are just a million things to do and countless ways to build and enhance our personal and business relationships.

There were just a ton of the top names in Internet Marketing that joined us this year for this private cruise, and for the most part, we had the chance to hang out with almost everyone.

However, there was one man who pretty much kept to himself throughout the whole cruise and spent most of his time with his family, but I was able to catch him and spoke with him for a few minutes, and here is a photo to prove it:

A Rich Schefren “Sighting” Aboard The Carnival Liberty Caught On Film

On every marketing cruise I’ve been on, I have had the pleasure of either meeting someone new or improving my relationship with people I have acquainted with, but haven’t had the chance to really get to know.

Being on a cruise gives us that opportunity because for 8 days, there’s really nowhere for any of us to go :)

So we make the best of it by getting to know each other, having a good time and above all, building the friendships and business relationships that will last a life time.

Even though the annual private i5 Gold Cruise has come to an end, there’s good news…

Moving forward, there will be a brand new and exciting annual cruise that I will have to tell you more about in a few weeks’ time.

And yes, this means that there will be another cruise next year, and we’ll make this opportunity available not only to the “VIPs,” but also to our fellow marketing friends, customers and subscribers…

So don’t feel left out if you didn’t get the chance to go with us this time around, because in just a few weeks, I’ll be able to make an announcement regarding next year’s cruise :)

The next one will be our biggest one yet, so stay tuned for more information about how you can join us on the next Internet Marketer’s Cruise!

In the meantime, enjoy this 5 minute short video I recorded on board the Carnival Liberty (sorry about the poor video quality – my camera has been taking a beating lately, I guess I need to get a new one soon)…

Hello and Happy New Year from Hunter’s Lakefront, a cabin rental from Tahoe Luxury Properties in North Lake Tahoe!

For the past few days, I have been spending the last remaining days of 2007 here in Tahoe with a couple of my best Google buddies and our friends, hanging out at the cabin, doing some snowboarding, playing in the snow, driving around town and dining at some of the finest restuarants in the area.

And tonight (in just a few hours, in fact), we will be ringing in the New Year 2008 together at the Hard Rock Cafe in South Lake Tahoe.

Here’s a snapshot of my buddy, David DiNucci, and I on New Year’s Eve:

Here’s another one of us during one of our group dinners:

Here’s yet another one of us in front of our cabin right before heading out to the slopes.

Here is one more of us on New Year’s night:

As we say goodbye to 2007, I’ve had some time to reflect on some of my goals that I had set for my first full year in business (see my 2007 resolutions here), as well as what I have achieved over the past 12 months.

My actual accomplishments of 2007 includes launching my premier successful home study course, holding teleseminars and webinars with other marketing experts, speaking engagements across the country and across the world, building a team of over a dozen high performing superstars, organizing my own workshops, and completing my book manuscript and getting it accepted for publication by a New York Publishing Company.

Yes, 2007 has definitely exceeded my expectations on so many different levels – Never had I imagined an opportunity where I can work at home if I wanted to, or travel to places I have never been before as part of my business.

So it is a little bitter sweet as I make my final blog post of the year, but it only means that I have many more exciting new posts to look forward to in the year to come.

And my resolution for 2008?

Well, I plan to make this year my best year yet (I know, not much to compare it to… I’ve only been in business for one year haha)!

But to make 2008 even better, I plan to start up a couple new businesses in China and Singapore, become a best selling author, build an even bigger team, create more information products, get involved more in Web 2.0 technology, focus more on niche marketing, organize more workshops, create more joint ventures, expand my branding Internationally and partner up with the right people to do new things that I never dreamed of doing before.

Exciting indeed, and if you want to embark on this venture with me, and perhaps set out to accomplish some of your own business goals, I welcome you to join me by commenting on this post or contacting me privately here.

And of course, I am always looking for more sharp and like-minded individuals to join my team and get involved in real Internet Marketing projects with me.

In the meantime, I’ve put together a quick video from the slopes of Squaw Valley here in Tahoe that you can view below.

Enjoy the video, and I wish you a successful, joyous and prosperous 2008 … HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jason Oman Update from Atlanta

Oct 18 · by

I’ve received tons of emails and messages from countless friends and well wishers who are asking about how Jason Oman is doing, so I thought I’d give you a quick update on his progress.

I just came back from the Emory University Hospital here in Atlanta with my local Apprentice, Mitch Mauldin.

We only got to see Jason briefly because he had just taken his medication, so he was about to get his rest.

Physically, Jason seems to be recuperating well after his surgery, which took place earlier this week.

While he appeared to be in a positive mental state, he still has a little problem with facial recognition at this time.

When I first walked into his room, Jason looked a little confused as I greeted him with, “Hey Superstar!”

After staring at me for a few seconds, he greeted me back: “What’s up man?”

I told him my name to help him out, and he responded, “Simon… Simon, Simon?”

I smiled and said “Yep!”

He replied excitedly, “Cool!”

As always in good spirits, I knew deep down inside, my friend is still in there.

Before I left, I gave him a gift bag filled with the get well wishes left in the comments from my previous blog post.

Hundreds of people stopped by to leave Jason a message, including Mark Joyner, Alex Mandossian, Mike Filsaime, Joel Comm, Dave Lakhani, Tellman Knudson, Mark Widawer, Michael Penland, David Garfinkel, Donna Fox, Kevin Wilke, Sterling Valentine, Harris Fellman, Heather Vale, Jeremy Gislason, Jason James, Frank Sousa, Larry Benet, Glenn Dietzel, Mike Morgan, Jason Moffatt, Eric Holmlund, Ross Goldberg and Brian Edmondson, just to name a few.

I’m sure Jason will really enjoy reading these messages when he gets better, and thanks again to all of you for your continued support.

Keep those recovery thoughts and prayers coming… I have a good feeling they will be answered real soon.

Jason – Stay strong buddy! You got lots of love coming your way :)

As you may or may not have heard, my very good friend, brilliant marketer and #1 best selling author of “Conversations with Millionaires,” Jason Oman, recently experienced a brain aneurysm, and is currently awaiting major surgery at an Atlanta hospital.

jason oman

Simon Leung and Jason Oman

This news came as a shock to me particularly because I had spoken to Jason as recently as last week, when he gave me a testimonial for my new book, and we discussed cross promotions for a live event, something we had talked about doing for almost a year and a half now.

And then, just a few short days later, Jason faces a life threatening operation that only gives him a 30% chance of a full recovery.

As soon as I found out the alarming news, I immediately sent out personal requests for thoughts and prayers to keep Jason strong as he layed unconscious in his hospital bed, possibly not even aware of what had happened to him.

I now believe more than ever the power of love and prayers because within just hours of the email and receiving dozens of responses of well wishes from all around the world, I received news that Jason has regained consciousness!

This is extremely good news because Jason has become a very close friend since I met him at my very first Internet Marketing seminar while I was still working at Google, and played a huge role in helping me jumpstart my business when I finally went out on my own.

Jason is only 34 years old – Even though he is very young, he has achieved a lot, helped tons of people and still has a lot more to give, and perhaps he will play a big role in your life in the future as well (if he hasn’t already).

That’s why now more than ever, Jason needs your love and support, and if you pray, please continue the prayers for him.

I’m planning to visit Jason in Atlanta next week, and I’m sure he will be happy to know about the love and support he has from friends he knows and even those he has yet to meet.

When I see him, I will give him a card filled with personal messages and get-well wishes, and would love to include yours.

Please take one minute of your time right now to leave your comment below (and tell your friends to do the same), and I will personally make sure that your message is included in the card.

The outpouring of response has been nothing short of amazing – Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued love and support, and please remember to leave Jason and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will put up a website soon so people can get updates on how Jason is doing.

In the meantime, be sure to take a moment to appreciate every day, because not any one of us is guaranteed a tomorrow on this planet.

In fact, I was talking to Mark Joyner and Declan Dunn yesterday as they recalled the moment they found out that their friend and pioneer marketing legend, Corey Rudl, passed away a couple years ago, and something like this really puts all our personal problems and frustrations into proper perspective.

I’m taking the rest of the weekend off to spend some quality time with my family – I encourage you to do the same.

Don’t forget to tell those you care about that you love them, and live each day like it’s your last.
