Social Media Simplified in Ventura, California

Filed Under: Educational · Seminars · Travel · Updates

Hello from Ventura Technology Development Center on the filming set of the Social Media Simplified Web 2.0 Master Class in Ventura, CA!

Social Media Simplified Presenters Mari Smith, Deborah Micek, Linda Taylor, Denise Wakeman, Simon Leung And Nancy Marmolejo

Even though I only had one hour of sleep that I snuck in during my 6am flight from San Jose to Ontario, I was too excited to be tired as my partner Andy Huang and I then made a 2-hour commute to Ventura to take part in Social Media Simplified filming.

As a late addition to the Social Media Simplified team of talented presenters, I was extremely stoked to accept the invitation to join the ranks of Linda Taylor, Deborah Micek (AKA CoachDeb), Mari Smith, Denise Wakeman (one half of the BlogSquad team with Patsi Krakoff) and Nancy Marmolejo to speak on Google Optimization through Social Media.

Throughout the day, we learned a ton of great information about marketing with social media, utilizing Web 2.0 tools such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and CoachDeb’s own Blog i360 system as a blogging platform.

During my time on stage, I was excited not only to share some of the social media tools, widgets, plugins and strategies that I personally use for my own blog to maximize the quality and quantity of traffic coming into my website, but also to have some fun and share some laughs with the great audience, as well.

In fact, we had so much fun that most of the attendees at Social Media Simplified felt that my presentation was more entertaining than it was informative! (Haha… just kidding…)

All joking aside, I’m confident that every one in attendance had a good time and hopefully, have already begun implementing some of the effective social media marketing strategies shared on the Social Media Simplified stage.

Towards the end of the shooting, all the presenters got together on stage to organize an expert panel, where we conducted live critiques of attendees’ blogs and answered questions from the audience.

After the Social Media Simplified event was over, we brought the party over to our VIP dinner at a nearby French restaurant, where we had the opportunity to network more with one another.

Before leaving town the following evening, I spent the day hanging out with CoachDeb, Andy Huang and James Lee, taking advantage of some of the best dim sum in town, as well as organizing our own “working party,” complete with sake and snacks!

Overall, I had a ton of fun and made a bunch of new connections at Social Media Simplified, so I am definitely glad I was able to make it out to Southern California for the one day event before returning to Singapore next week for The SMART Seminar.

If you weren’t able to attend Social Media Simplified, the entire event has been recorded and the DVD set will be made available within the next week, so stay tuned for more information about how you can get your hands on the amazing social marketing content so you don’t miss out!

In the meantime, you can keep up with posts, comments and photos from the Social Media Simplified presenters, attendees and fans on the #SMSV Twitter stream.

Meet Your AIMVenture AdWords Assistants

Filed Under: Promotion · Travel · Updates · Videos

Hello from the 18th floor of the Guyang Mansion in Nanjing, China, where, along with Andy Huang, my business partner for AIMVenture Corporation, we are continuing to build out our various outsourcing teams, including AdWords Assistants, among other traffic generation services.

aimventure

Simon Leung And Andy Huang With The AIMVenture China Team

In addition to providing Internet Marketing services, the Nanjing office is also our headquarters for several other businesses, which consists of e-commerce websites and product manufacturing, supplying, trading and exporting.

However, the primary objective for this trip is to grow the Internet Marketing side of our business by hiring more traffic assistants and providing more training to the team, particularly on the Pay-Per-Click (PPC), search engine optimization (SEO) and Web 2.0 social media side of things.

Andy Huang and I have been in the Nanjing office this past week doing just that, and the team has been doing extremely well in terms of growth and improvement to their skills.

Needless to say, it’s been a hectic week, but somehow, we found the time to record a quick video to give you a brief tour of our Nanjing office :)

AdWordsAssistants.com - AdWords Outsourcing Service (Free Consultation)

Filed Under: Launch · Promotion · Resources · Travel · Updates

Sep 02

I’ve been traveling pretty aggressively for the past two years, and I can pretty much count the number of weekends I actually spent at home in 2008 with one hand.

And after spending my first weekend at home in several months, well, I’m leaving again…

This time, I’m going with Andy Huang (my apprentice turned business partner) back to Nanjing, China, to continue building our growing AdWords outsourcing team.

We have some pretty aggressive goals for the next couple of weeks, including getting the team skilled to the point where they can manage six to seven figure corporate accounts.

But before I leave and officially launch this service to the corporations out in Asia, I wanted to give *you* (as my loyal blog readers and subscribers) priority notice and access to our rigorously trained team.

(Hey, you know I’m always lookin out for you, right ;)

In fact, our team of talented college graduates were trained with the exact same system used to train Google employees who manage now multi-million dollar accounts!

Needless to say, you’ll be in very good hands knowing that you can outsource your AdWords marketing to the very best!

We’re only taking on a limited number of beta clients at our introductory price before we launch this to thousands of prospects in Asia next week and raise the price.

If you’re interested in hiring one of our AdWords Assistants, request one ASAP along with a free consultation so you don’t miss out :)

Oh, and we’ll even talk to you on the phone first to make sure our services are right for you.

How much more can you do with your business if you can outsource the nitty gritty repetitive work of AdWords management?

Let us help ;)

Ross Goldberg’s Masters Seminar In Chicago, IL

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Jul 20

Hello from Room 1116 of the Westin Hotel at Ross Goldberg’s Masters Seminar in Chicago, IL!

masters seminar

As you can see from the Masters Seminar sign, Ross Goldberg has gone all out with a high budget production for his latest Masters Seminar. ;)

All joking aside, the sign above was only temporary while we awaited the print-outs of the real sign, which was ready before the doors opened at 8am on Friday morning…

ross goldberg

For this Masters Seminar, Ross Goldberg has put together the most impressive expert line-up yet, including some of the biggest names in Internet Marketing.

Speakers include Joel Comm, Anik Singal, Donna Fox, Ken McArthur, Willie Crawford, Alan Bechtold, Frank Sousa, Lee Collins, Robin Collins, Nathan Anderson, Tracy Repchuk, Eric Farewell, Kevin Nations, Brad Semp, Eric Stafford, Bob Jenkins, Gina Gaudio-Graves, and myself…

simon leung

simon leong

As always, Ross Goldberg put on a great event that not only included a ton of amazing content, but fun networking opportunities as well.

Speakers and attendees alike were able to network with one another at the conference, over lunch, dinner, at the hotel bar and even at a private cocktail party.

And within our own inner circle of friends, we’ve always believed in giving back and over-delivering…

So Joel Comm and I decided that we would do a bonus presentation for the attendees on a very logical partnership - the two sides of Google, AdWords and AdSense…

joel comm

joel comm

joel comm

During the 90 minute or so presentation, Joel Comm and I told some personal stories and revealed some strategic ways to grow a business using AdWords and AdSense.

In addition, we also took specific questions from the audience to make sure that the content we provided was the kind of information they wanted to learn.

Overall, the consensus was that the bonus session was very valuable, and those in attendance were very appreciative of the additional content.

On a more personal note…

As much as I enjoy speaking at seminars and networking with attendees or other speakers, I feel like it might be time for me to take my own business to a new direction.

When I came back home from Asia last March, I planned to stop speaking at so many seminars to focus on my own office projects and business overseas.

However, before I knew it, my travel schedule was booked every weekend through the end of the summer.

While I continued to have fun at these various events over the summer, I’m planning once again to focus on various other aspects of my business that would require less seminar speaking.

This time, I’m serious…

I do plan to continue traveling, as I have a lot of fun doing it, but I would only do so for my own events or for International business affairs.

You’ll hear more about some exciting new projects I have in the works in Singapore, Malaysia and China in the upcoming months…

I’ll be working with my good friends Stuart Tan and Ewen Chia from Singapore, as well as some of my top performing team members, Andy Huang and Kevin Finney.

That will probably be several weeks down the line for production and launch time.

In the meantime, if you are interested in catching me one last time before I leave the country again in about a month, I will be in Long Island, NY, on August 8th, at the Three Sides of Traffic workshop that I’ll be conducting with Ross Goldberg and Howie Schwartz.

Because we’re so close to Mike Filsaime’s Long Island office, Mike Filsaime and his team will most likely drop by as well, along with several other surprise VIPs over the course of the weekend.

And again, because we believe so much in giving back, Ross Goldberg, Howie Schwartz and myself are actually not going to make any money from this traffic workshop.

Plus, in addition to receiving a free ticket to this event, you will also have an opportunity to give back yourself by helping children in need.

I honestly can’t think of a better way to wrap up my two year speaking tour than this, and would be honored to share this experience with you…

Google AdWords Workshop 2 in San Jose, CA

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Jun 15

Hello from the Governor D conference room of the Holiday Inn Airport at the 2nd AdWords Workshop in sunny San Jose, CA!

adwords workshop

This is my second AdWords Workshop that I’ve organized on my own, and I must say that the support I’ve received from all my friends has hands-down made this better than the last, and will make this one extremely difficult to beat.

First off, the caliber of expert speakers we had at the AdWords Workshop were simply amazing - even *I* was blown away by who I was able to get to grace my stage!

I’m talking about Internet Marketing legends and rockstars like (photos taken from Blackberry Curve and sent to Twitter)…

ben mack

mike woo-ming

AdWords Workshop Lead Generation Expert Dr. Mike Woo-Ming

mark widawer

AdWords Workshop Testing And Tracking Expert Mark Widawer

Visit their websites - they are true Internet Marketing rockstars and have just a ton of immense value to bring to the table… I couldn’t help but take pages and pages of notes at my own event!

For the core part of the AdWords Training, we covered specific optimization strategies pertaining to landing pages, keywords, ad text and account structure, followed by hands-on and interactive sessions with not only real-life examples of my best performing campaigns, but we also worked with attendees to review their accounts and even create brand new campaigns from scratch live on stage.

The overall consensus is that the live demonstrations were the most valuable because even though the content was great, they wanted to see the strategies implemented in actual campaigns from which they can learn.

Thus, we did just that, and this has contributed to a large part of the AdWords Workshop’s success for the weekend.

And of course, none of this would have been possible in the first place if it weren’t for the help of my team…

So I’d like to publicly thank Alejandro Reyes - who put together the keynote and set the stage for the weekend, Kevin Finney - who facilitated and helped on stage during the interactive sessions and closing presentation, Andy Huang - who put together the weekend’s outline and took care of all the nitty gritty details, John Guanzon and his lovely wife Jessica - who helped organize the venue for the event, and special thanks to Amanda Swigert, who stepped up unscheduled and helped us out with everything from assistant duties to running the videos.

In this business, it’s not just the knowledge that you learn and apply, but also the relationships that you build.

I honestly had more fun at the AdWords Workshop this past weekend than any organizers should be allowed to have at their own events, and I owe it all to my friends who were able to bring this much value to our small group of awesome attendees.

Throughout the weekend, we had live streaming shows, exquisite meals, masterminds, social marketing experiences and just an overall good time with everyone at restaurants and bars (click here to view all my real-time Twitter updates from the weekend).

A quick note on the power of social marketing - on our live stream, we attracted over 50 viewers including Rich Schefren, Ed Dale, Jason Moffatt, Deborah Micek, Justin Brooke and Donna Fox…

In fact, Donna Fox made her decision to come to San Jose based on witnessing how much fun we were having, and she literally decided on Friday that she was going to come on Saturday!

And as Donna Fox and everyone else in attendance at the AdWords Workshop can attest, it was very well worth the trip…

We literally have raving testimonials from every single person who attended the AdWords Workshop, and even though I don’t know when I’m going to have a next one because I’m booked solid for the next foreseeable future (quite possibly six months or more), I definitely want to re-live the weekend sometime soon.

If you’d like to join us for the next AdWords Workshop and spend a fun and productive weekend learning and creating new relationships, keep up-to-date with any announcements we might have by joining our priority pre-notification list at www.AdWordsWorkshop.com

See You At The Next One!

Asia Trip Update From Nanjing, China

Filed Under: Educational · Travel · Updates

Mar 08

Hello from Room 1919 of the Celebrity City Hotel in Nanjing, China!

During this Nanjing stop of my Asia trip, I’m actually building a virtual outsourcing team with my business partner, Andy Huang, and we have been aggressively hiring, building and training our team members during the past several days.

We have a lot of exciting developments and new projects in the horizons that involves a wide variety of niches, so depending on what your particular interests and passions are, you may actually have the opportunity to travel with us sometime in the near future if you share some of the same business visions.

I’m glad we decided on Nanjing to build our first official office team because even though this is my first time here, I have already been more impressed with Nanjing in terms of work ethics and business development than the other China cities I’ve visited in the past several weeks, including GuangZhou, DongGuan, ShenZhen and ZhuHai.

And just within the short time that I’ve been here, I have already made some very good friends and business associates, not to mention that my Mandarin has improved significantly as well since it is the only form of communication among all my new friends :)

In addition to work, I’ve also had the chance to enjoy some Nanjing tourist attractions, food and entertainment…

Lunch At A Local Restaurant

The Presidential Palace From When Nanjing Was The Capital City

An Actual Soldier’s Cave

The Popular Local Entertainment Area With KTV, Bars And Clubs

Within the upcoming few months, there are going to be a lot of changes in the way I run my business, so you may not be seeing too much of me at live seminar events anymore.

That’s because while I do plan to continue traveling, it will be to build and train teams in various parts of Asia (as we grow there), as well as taking on a couple new International projects, and not so much speaking at live seminars as I have been doing for the past year and a half.

But alas, my current Asia trip is still not over yet, as once I leave Nanjing, I am going straight to Macau to take care of more business.

In the meantime, please enjoy the short video below about my experience in personally being involved in the hiring, building and training of a virtual outsourcing team in China.
