Real AdWords Training Program In Singapore

Hello from the Seminar Room of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business in the Singapore Management University (SMU) at the Real AdWords Training Program!

The Real AdWords Training Program is the first of many workshops that I will be partnering up with my good friend and native Singaporean, Ewen Chia.

About four years ago, I first interacted with Ewen Chia as a customer of his many affiliate marketing products, and he was one of the first Internet Marketers I came across while learning the ropes of Internet and affiliate marketing.

It wasn’t until December of 2006 when I visited Singapore for the first time did I finally meet Ewen Chia in person in the restroom of the Shangri-La Hotel (yes, this was another JV restroom encounter haha).

We had briefly discussed working together then, but things finally got rolling again last November when we shared the stage at Fabian Lim’s Asia Internet Congress in Singapore.

As we continued our discussions over email, the birth of the Real AdWords Training Program was born, which is why I have the pleasure of working with Ewen Chia this weekend and the primary reason for this Asia trip.

The Real AdWords Training Program was a lot of fun to do in a sold out classroom format at the Singapore Management University.

I very much felt like a University professor in front of the room, and it definitely had an impact in helping make the workshop more hands on and interactive.

Because most of the room at the Real AdWords Training Program comprised of newbie Internet Marketers, in addition to the content delivery, we were doing a lot of hand holding, live demonstrations and Q&As.

And as with all of my workshops, I always encourage people to work on their campaigns as they learn the information throughout the weekend, and those who did actually got some pretty cool results.

There were students who built their first websites, designed their first landing pages, drove traffic to a website for the first time, and even made their first sale before the weekend was over!

All in all, I would say that this was a very successful event, and all the attendees of the Real AdWords Training Program had nothing but good things to say about the workshop.

Even though the Real AdWords Training Program was my primary reason for going to Singapore, I do have several more highlights from my trip.

For example, Alex Mandossian gave me a shoutout on stage at T. Harv Eker’s Guerilla Business Intensive (Funny quote from Alex Mandossian on stage: "By the way, if you really want to learn how to use Google AdWords… That guy over there who looks like he doesn’t know anything - he’s the guy who created their optimization training…")

In addition, Ewen Chia and Stuart Tan both took turns taking me out for exquisite local cuisines, meeting and training Ewen Chia’s team and Stuart Tan’s students, and tons of fun times at hanging out, drinking and watching movies with my friends Cassey Lim, Yanli Zhang and Benjamin Gay.

Although we weren’t able to capture every moment on camera (cuz it broke!), these are some of the good times we actually did so I can share them with you here…

Internet Marketing Malaysia

Hello from the 12th floor of the luxury condominiums owned by Stuart Tan’s company at the PPDI Plaza in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

Yesterday, Stuart Tan, Edmund Loh and I embarked on a four and a half hour road trip from Singapore to visit Stuart Tan’s Malaysia office to meet his Malaysian team.

We then dropped off our things at the condo and proceeded to meet some of Stuart Tan and Edmund Loh’s local subscribers and customers for an informal gathering.

Even though it was a last minute meetup, over a dozen people showed up to meet and greet, including my friend, Vince Tan, who also lives in Malaysia.

For about four hours or so, we masterminded and brainstormed to the mostly newbie group about:

  • List building;
  • Private Label Rights;
  • Public Domain;
  • Google AdWords, keyword traffic and quality score;
  • Systems and processes;
  • Search Engine Optimization;
  • Social media;
  • Video sites
  • And more…

It was a good experience for me to get accustomed to yet another culture in a country that I’m visiting for the first time.

I’m definitely grateful that Stuart Tan has taken the initiative to organize this trip because it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about the cultures.

This information will be really useful for me since I plan to be doing a lot more business in the Asia market, so definitely be on the look out for some cool project announcements very soon.

Internet Success Program Preview Seminar Two

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Jun 20

Hello again from the York Hotel in Singapore, where Ewen Chia and I just completed our second preview seminar for our Internet Success Program!

ewen chia

ewen chia

Over 200 people responded to our event’s promotion to meet us live tonight, and for about two hours, Ewen Chia and I shared the stage to give the attendees some of the best information available anywhere about building their Internet businesses.

These preview seminars have been tremendous for me in terms of experience and learning more about the Singaporean culture, and what types of content they respond to, and how to best deliver them.

An interesting lesson I discovered is that when it comes to comedy, some of my best material that gets people slapping their knees in the states actually bombed completely and got almost zero response from the audience!

However, I already had such expectations because the same thing happened last time I spoke in Singapore, and this time, instead of feeling like a fool again, I used this as a testing tool to learn what kind of psychological triggers they respond to.

In fact, I learned so much from just studying the audience’s reactions alone that we actually more than DOUBLED our conversions from our first preview seminar!

Definitely an interesting and productive learning experience for me, especially since I’ve decided to work on more projects internationally and primarily in the Singapore and Malaysia regions.

Internet Success Program Preview Seminar One

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Jun 18

Hello from Room 732 of the York Hotel in Singapore, where I’ve just returned to my hotel room from my first Internet Success Program preview seminar!

internet success program

With barely enough room to breathe only 24 hours of concluding my three day AdWords Workshop in San Jose, I was boarding a flight to Singapore for my next adventure.This time, I am in Singapore to hold my first workshop called the “Internet Success Program” alongside Ewen Chia, who is known all across the Internet Marketing community as the leading super affiliate.

It took about 21 hours of travel time for me to get from San Francisco to Singapore, and when I finally arrived at around 1pm, I was greeted by Ewen Chia and Stuart Tan, who had just arrived home from the states as well just 10 hours prior.

With barely any time to spare, we checked into the York Hotel, which will be my home for the next two weeks, grabbed a quick bite, and I immediately went to work that evening, holding my first ever preview seminar for the Internet Success Program in front of the Singapore audience.

A total of about 155 people responded to the marketing done by Ewen Chia about the Internet Success Program preview seminar, and for about two hours, Ewen and I shared the stage and gave the audience some good information about building an Internet Marketing business.

ewen chia

After the Internet Success Program preview seminar, I was pretty wiped out, and Ewen Chia, along with his wife, Irene Pua, were kind enough to drop me off back at the York Hotel, where I’m going to call it a night.Tomorrow, I will have a full agenda, hanging out more with Ewen Chia, Stuart Tan, and I even plan on meeting up with my friend, Jacyln Chan, at the Singapore Expo.

Should be an exciting day…

Google AdWords Workshop 2 in San Jose, CA

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Jun 15

Hello from the Governor D conference room of the Holiday Inn Airport at the 2nd AdWords Workshop in sunny San Jose, CA!

adwords workshop

This is my second AdWords Workshop that I’ve organized on my own, and I must say that the support I’ve received from all my friends has hands-down made this better than the last, and will make this one extremely difficult to beat.

First off, the caliber of expert speakers we had at the AdWords Workshop were simply amazing - even *I* was blown away by who I was able to get to grace my stage!

I’m talking about Internet Marketing legends and rockstars like (photos taken from Blackberry Curve and sent to Twitter)…

Visit their websites - they are true Internet Marketing rockstars and have just a ton of immense value to bring to the table… I couldn’t help but take pages and pages of notes at my own event!

For the core part of the AdWords Training, we covered specific optimization strategies pertaining to landing pages, keywords, ad text and account structure, followed by hands-on and interactive sessions with not only real-life examples of my best performing campaigns, but we also worked with attendees to review their accounts and even create brand new campaigns from scratch live on stage.

The overall consensus is that the live demonstrations were the most valuable because even though the content was great, they wanted to see the strategies implemented in actual campaigns from which they can learn.

Thus, we did just that, and this has contributed to a large part of the AdWords Workshop’s success for the weekend.

And of course, none of this would have been possible in the first place if it weren’t for the help of my team…

So I’d like to publicly thank Alejandro Reyes - who put together the keynote and set the stage for the weekend, Kevin Finney - who facilitated and helped on stage during the interactive sessions and closing presentation, Andy Huang - who put together the weekend’s outline and took care of all the nitty gritty details, John Guanzon and his lovely wife Jessica - who helped organize the venue for the event, and special thanks to Amanda Swigert, who stepped up unscheduled and helped us out with everything from assistant duties to running the videos.

In this business, it’s not just the knowledge that you learn and apply, but also the relationships that you build.

I honestly had more fun at the AdWords Workshop this past weekend than any organizers should be allowed to have at their own events, and I owe it all to my friends who were able to bring this much value to our small group of awesome attendees.

Throughout the weekend, we had live streaming shows, exquisite meals, masterminds, social marketing experiences and just an overall good time with everyone at restaurants and bars (click here to view all my real-time Twitter updates from the weekend).

A quick note on the power of social marketing - on our live stream, we attracted over 50 viewers including Rich Schefren, Ed Dale, Jason Moffatt, Deborah Micek, Justin Brooke and Donna Fox…

In fact, Donna Fox made her decision to come to San Jose based on witnessing how much fun we were having, and she literally decided on Friday that she was going to come on Saturday!

And as Donna Fox and everyone else in attendance at the AdWords Workshop can attest, it was very well worth the trip…

We literally have raving testimonials from every single person who attended the AdWords Workshop, and even though I don’t know when I’m going to have a next one because I’m booked solid for the next foreseeable future (quite possibly six months or more), I definitely want to re-live the weekend sometime soon.

If you’d like to join us for the next AdWords Workshop and spend a fun and productive weekend learning and creating new relationships, keep up-to-date with any announcements we might have by joining our priority pre-notification list at www.AdWordsWorkshop.com

See You At The Next One!
