The Rich Jerk Mastermind and Party Event

Filed Under: Seminars · Travel · Updates

Aug 18

Hello from Room 1709 of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Ave of the Stars at The Rich Jerk’s Mastermind and Party Event in Los Angeles, California!

This is an exciting trip because it will be the first time that all four members of my team in one of our companies will be present (Hey, we’re Internet Marketers - doing business with people you’ve never met before isn’t all that uncommon).

I arrived at LAX on Thursday afternoon from my quick flight from San Jose (SJC), just in time to meet up with my buddy and business partner, Sam Heyer, whose flight was just coming in from Minnesota.

As I waited for Sam near the baggage claim area, Harris Fellman shows up with his wife, Andrea, along with Jud Smith from PowerPay, and his assistant.

It was a cool surprise, and the funny thing was that neither Harris, Jud nor Sam were aware that they had shared the same flight to Los Angeles.

In any case, we all then shared a cab ride to the hotel here at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, where we checked into our rooms and settled in a bit.

Then, Sam and I decided to head downstairs to grab a bite and ran into Mike Filsaime, Tom Beal and Randy Charach, who were hanging out at the lobby and waiting for a couple other people to go to In and Out Burger.

We were then greeted by Harris and Andrea again, who preferred sushi over In and Out, so Sam and I decided to join them for some lunch there at the hotel, where we were then joined by Jason Moffat and Merlin Holmes as they made their way into the hotel.

After a little bit of mingling, we went back to our rooms to get ready to go to the Magic Castle, which is an exclusive club, and you are allowed entry only with members of the Magic Castle.

So then, we all met up at the hotel lobby with John Reese, Kevin Wilke, Jeff Mulligan, Mike Long, John Reel, Jeff Dedrick, Kevin Colon, Eric Rockefeller, Jud Smith, Wesley Williams, Tim Erway, Patric Chan and Magic Ryan Kaltman from The Rich Jerk Team and headed over to the Magic Castle to experience some insane close up and stage magic action.

The next day, we had a private mastermind session with everyone from the Magic Castle, along with more people who joined us late, including Eben Pagan, David DeAngelo, Willie Crawford, Jason Potash, Dave Lakhani, Tom Bell, Joel Therien, IIona Therien, Dave Miz, Jason James and Mike Woo-Ming.

This was a great session as Eben Pagan took the stage to talk about business building strategies, followed by an interactive question and answer session where the audience wrote down their most burning questions on the wall, and experts take turn answering them.

Speaking At The Mastermind

As soon as the mastermind session was over, we all got ready for the highlight of the trip - A party at the Playboy Mansion!

The Playboy Mansion was spectacular - and entering the property itself was an entire military operation!

I had the chance to hang out with some of my other Internet Marketing friends there, including Anik Singal, Jason Oman, Rachel Rofe, Arnel Castro and TV Stars of A&E’s “Flip This House,” Armando Montelongo and Veronica Montelongo.

Speaking of stars, other celebrity sightings at the Playboy Mansion include Paulie Shore, Bobby Brown, Mad Mike, Mystery and Adam Mesh from Average Joe.

I will spare the details of The Rich Jerk’s Playboy Mansion Party to avoid offending anybody, but overall, everyone in our group had an incredible time and the mansion was simply amazing.

Later on today, David DiNucci, one of my best buddies from Google who moved down here to Newport Beach is going to swing by the hotel to pick me up, and we’re going to drive back up to the Bay Area together.

It will be a lot of fun as we haven’t hung out since his birthday party down in Newport Beach back in February, so it will be a great opportunity for us to spend some quality time together and catching up.

Freedom Day - One Year Later

Aug 05

Happy Freedom Day!

That’s right - August 5th is Freedom Day, a special celebration that I share with Mike Filsaime, who also left the automotive industry on this exact date in 2004 to become a full-time Internet Marketer.

Mike and I briefly exchanged Freedom Day wishes today via text message, but even though we are both extremely busy, it was definitely necessary to take a moment to acknowledge this special day.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been one year since I retired from Google and started my own full-time business, but at the same time, it feels like I’ve been doing Internet Marketing my whole life.

A lot has happened since that fateful day one year ago when I made the biggest professional decision of my life, and even though it was a difficult choice to leave a company that I’ve grown to love, I knew that it was just something I had to do.

The last 12 months have been one hell of a ride, and I haven’t looked back since…

Everything happened so quickly - literally within the same week after leaving the corporate world, I was immediately on my way to travel the country, speaking at seminars, and taking on my own clients.

And while I have made the conscious decision to slow down my travels significantly in the past several weeks (there was a period when I traveled to a different city every weekend), I am happy that I am still able to work from my home.

While I do spend a lot of time working online, I also do a good amount of live and recorded teleseminar and webinar calls, having been interviewed recently by industry experts like Jim Edwards, Joel Comm, David Garfinkel, Ross Goldberg, Scott Paton and Jeff and Lori.

I have also been doing more private trainings, having recently trained Alex Mandossian and his team two weeks ago, Mike Filsaime and Tom Beal’s I5 Gold coaching students last week (and again this week), and also another one for Mark Victor Hansen’s students tomorrow, where I will be joined by Paulie Sabol and Donna Fox.

And so year one is officially a wrap, but by no means is this the end…

In fact, I have so much in store for year two that it feels like I haven’t even started.

I’m excited that you will be joining me as we continue to develop and explore the Internet Marketing world together.

There is so much opportunity that we have barely begun to scratch the surface, and I am stoked to share my discoveries with you.
